Open to the Public - Campground in Missouri
Meramec Valley Camp Resort began as a 102-acre resort with 478 camping spaces in 1976. International Villages (later Beal Properties, Inc.) was the developer of the resort. The park was developed under Yogi Bear Resort.
As the number of memberships (property owners) increased, the Yogi Bear Franchise became very costly to maintain, while its value to the park decreased. In the fall of 1980, the Owner's Association voted to remove the campground from the Yogi Bear system and become a private (Owner's only) resort.
By 1986, 1,350 of 1,950 undivided interest as (memberships) provided for by the By-Laws were sold. On January 1, 1990 the developer turned over the ownership of all the park and improvements to the Meramec Valley Owners Association, Inc.
The "Fourth Amended Declaration of Restrictions", The By-Laws of Meramec Valley Owners' Assn., Inc. and the Shared Ownership Rule Book govern the park.
Each Year, an "Annual Owner's Meeting' is held to vote three members for a three-year term to serve on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of nine voted members that oversee the business affairs of the campground.
